New Members Initiative Bill

I might as well start it off to set examples.

This bill requires all new members to have a 2 week trial period (if they are someone we don't know) if they are interested in joining. (A Death Muffin initiate.)

~~This bill also requires the member to be active for at least 1 month before being given mod powers.~~ - repealed

This bill also requires that before mod powers are given, a member must be nominated and voted in by Deathmuffin members (voted in to being a mod, not a member).

This may help prevent unwanted members from fucking everything up.

ALL IN FAVOR SAY YAY!

ALL AGAINST SAY NAY!

Throw in some ideas and we can modify this to our liking.

I think I like this idea...it'll make sure that someone's not gonna be a dick and make this not enjoyable for the rest of us. I think that, if a new member in their probationary period is getting under somebody's skin so it's proposed that they be kicked off, we (meaning the entire body of DeathMuffiners) should take a vote, though, and I think that we (meaning mods) should also vote on whether or not to make a new member a mod after they've been active for a month. Sound reasonable?

We could scratch the month idea and have it like what Mike said, we nominate someone with mod powers and vote if we can trust them with mod powers at any time we think it's necessary.

This would eliminate any definites ; new members from 'putting on an act' until their 1 month is over and screwing the whole thing. Sounds way better to me.

I like it. Lynn has a point about people being nice for a month then turning sour, and I like the way Mark addressed it. This sounds like a perfect set of ground rules to start out with, and if the need arises, we can always discuss ways to amend it later.
